I'm sorry if this question is dumb, but what are the five stages of Check Disk and how practice I know at which one I am? I tried googling before I asked, but information technology'southward not quite clear to me how I tin run across at which stage information technology is, or what these stages are called.
As well, I take read that Check Disk deletes files sometimes, that's the only reason why I would terminate it in the procedure, because I'm afraid to lose files. (I'm patient enough to wait information technology out otherwise).

On the screen you will be able to run into which stage Check Disk is at, it should read something like - (Stage i of 5)
Check disk will only delete files that are already decadent and would be unreadable already . . .
However, Bank check Disk if run in full mode tin sometimes take a long time to complete, you lot might need the patience of Jobe . . .

Hmm literally all I see on the screen is the judgement I mentioned before:
Scanning and repairing bulldoze (G:): 6% complete
Then I guess I can't observe out at which stage it is?
I'll presume it's run in full mode, as it started automatically without me giving consent (Probably the 'press any key to skip etc'), but I'm relieved to know that it should not damage the files that concern me.

Amyls, your files volition exist fine, it is just going to take a while . . .
I honestly remember Microsoft should modify it, then nosotros have to confirm Bank check Disk before it starts, because if you don't see the "Printing any central to skip . . ." prompt yous tin can loose valuable time waiting for it to complete

I recall so as well. I noticed on startup that the update was going to continue so I went away from my pc to brand some breakfast, and adjacent thing I know it'southward doing Check Disk. Hi Dave,
I felt like information technology would be nice if I updated you on the terminate result. I've waited five days in full for information technology to be at 99%, and I sat in front of my pc for another hr or so to brand certain I wouldn't miss anything. Well, I clearly didn't miss annihilation, because it went from 99% to 0%.
I'm curious as to why that would happen, because information technology did feel like a waste of v days of some sort. Anyway, at that point I decided to take the shot of shutting my pc downwardly and checking my files on my laptop. The files are fine, and then is my pc at present it has completed its update.
Do y'all have any inkling why it went back to 0%? I'm simply curious haha. I'thou glad it'south all fine simply that made my jaw drib subsequently 5 days.
