They are metal, and I am wondering what the best way to clean them off is? A movie can be establish here: https://imgur.com/a/K33As

Metal polish and #0000 steel wool is awesome on exhausts.

ive never had bug with windex (lol) and steel wool myself. dont accept access to metal polish at my store (if you could call it one, LOL)

Use very fine class steel wool (#00000 IIRC) with some metallic smoothen such as Autosol and a microfibre rag.

Alrighty I've got ya covered:
-
liberally spray exhaust tips with a ferrous remover (iron-x, fe-out, sonax bike cleaner)
-
let the chemical eat away at the metal particles, rinse off as much as you lot tin.
-
Metal polish with a thick pad (the black stuff is tough and will tear nice microfiber towels).
-
that'due south it

Call me out if I'one thousand wrong but I've always used bronze wool for my stainless steel frazzle tips along with a metal smoothen/cleaner. And then microfiber to wipe downwardly. I've heard that fifty-fifty 0000 steel wool can Mar or scratch even though it is finer.

The master advantage to contumely wool over steel wool is that brass does non rust, so whatsoever particles of the wool that might get embedded in what you are cleaning will not cause rust spots. It is a softer metallic every bit well, but I have never had any issues with steel wool leaving (noticeable) scratches.

P21S polishing soap... easiest mode to smooth metal I've ever used. You tin can do it during the wash procedure.

Agreed, P21S lather would be perfect for the tips OP posted.

It must be cause they are turbo, but my s3 pipes get dirty then quick. I use metal polish, works great. My NA m3 stays clean

I use Mother's Magazine & Aluminum smooth on a dispensable shop towel. I go it back to super shiny from soot blackness, and I don't need to waste a microfiber in the process.

I just did my exhaust tip using this product and a cheap MF towel, turned out bully!

Howdy, beau FSI sooty tips sufferer here. I take been using WD40 and a mf textile from my too worn to use on paint bin.
Its not annoying or corrosive and gets the job washed.

I just used Simichrome on my Dinan frazzle tips last weekend....actually like this metal polish.

I put opticoat on my exhaust as it makes information technology easier to clean and keeps stuff from sticking to it as easily to begin with
